November 26th- Two Great One Day Workshops! by maxthemutt

Our holiday gift: On Saturday November 26th, 2011 Workshops With The Pros will offer two introductory one day workshops, running from 10AM until 4PM, with a break from 12:30 to 1:30.


Introduction To Layout for Comics with Kent Burles will present an overview of the basics of comic book layout.

Kent Burles, Illustrator and comic book artist, is the coordinator of Max the Mutt’s Illustration For Sequential Arts Diploma Program  and is a talented and respected teacher.

Introduction To Cartooning With Tina Seemann will introduce you to the basics of constructing cartoon characters.

TINA SEEMANN, Director of Animation, is a cartoonist and character designer whose work has appeared on TV Ontario’s, “Polka Dot Door,” “Book Mice” and “Today’s Special” to name a few. Tina is currently designing the characters for the Max the Mutt Animation feature production “The Jazz Bears”. She has taught animation at Sheridan College and the Bell Centre for Creative Communication.

Intro to Life Drawing by maxthemutt

Introduction to Flash CS5 Design & Animation by maxthemutt

Starts July 4, 2011 Evenings

Beginning with the tools and interface, individuals will be introduced to Flash software. They will be taught how to design characters and will participate in basic animation exercises.

Examples of designs and animation shall be provided. Students will come away with an understanding of how content is created using Flash and the knowledge to apply it to their own projects.

TAMMY LANGTON has animated on such shows as ‘Peep and the Big Wide World’,'Max & Ruby’, ‘Best Ed’, ‘Yam Roll’, and does illustration work for Girl Guides Canada.  She has experience in design, animation, modeling, and lighting in flash and maya.  She is a graduate of Sheridan, Durham and Algonquin College.

JOSEPH TROY has animated on such shows as ‘Peep and the Big Wide World’, ‘Max &Ruby’, ‘Best Ed’, ‘Yam Roll’, and ‘My Friend Rabbit’.  He has been featured annually on Cold Hard Flash as an independent animator.  He is a graduate of the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design, Cambrian College and Durham College.
