Character Maquette Building For Animation and Video Games Part 2: with Steve Millard
Starts November 15, 2008
This is a continuation from Part 1. A maquette is a three-dimensional sculpture made from a drawn character design. In this course students will learn how to build a character maquette based on their own original designs.
Steve Millard worked in the animation industry both for Disney and Nelvana, where he was a character designer. Most recently he has been teaching Life Drawing, Anatomy, Character and Background Design while focusing on his painting which has been recently exhibited in Toronto and Oakville.

By the way, directly after high school Lubomir Arsov did both the three year Classical and Computer Animation Program and the Advanced fourth year3D Computer Animation and Production Diploma at Max the Mutt.
He won a Teletoon scholarship for his 3rd year film, and was hired as a character designer weeks after graduation. I really enjoyed his presentation and his open and humble attitude. It was obvious that he’s remained open to learning from his experiences and from the senior people he’s working with. He was generous to have taken time out to speak with current students, especially since he had to go back to work that evening. It made me feel good about Max the Mutt graduates.
